Magnesium RETURNS TO the Spotlight
Jan 10th, 2014

A large, randomized study published in this month’s issue of the Journal of Nutrition has once again demonstrated the benefits of Magnesium.  The study found that compared with those subjects with the lowest intake of magnesium, those with the highest intake had a 34% reduction in mortality risk from all causes -including cancer – and most importantly, cardiovascular disease (Guasch-Ferre et. al, Vol 144 #1, pp 55-60 – 2014). The relationship between magnesium intake and reduction in all-cause mortality in a high risk Mediterranean population serves once again to highlight the important role of Magnesium in the maintenance of good health.
